Activities Coordinator (Part-Time)

About the Service / Department   Join Hestia's Award winning Volunteering and Coproduction team. You will be supporting women, children and families who have experienced domestic abuse to rebuild their lives from crisis through recruiting and inducting volunteers. Volunteers provide a lifeline for the families we work with by delivering family fun activities, events, supporting women and children to develop and grow their skills and support people to move on from Hestia's refuges. You will be joining a team of individuals who work on various volunteering and coproduction projects, as team who are passionate, committed to supporting others and who enjoy working together as a team.  About the role   Utilising a project management approach to lead on the coordination of volunteering led projects.   Engage, recruit and on-board volunteers in accordance with Hestia's volunteer recruitment process.   To support delivery of our Summer Play Scheme alongside the DA services  Inspire and motivate Hestia's operational services to think creatively how volunteers can provide added value to their services.   To create a strong working relationship with services and in particular our Domestic Abuse Services.   To respond to prospectus volunteering enquiries and welcome volunteers to Hestia.   To supervise a group of volunteers for our Befriending Move on Pilot  To supervise a group of volunteers who offer Language Based Support   To represent and promote Hestia and our volunteering opportunities within the wider community and sector.  To help coordinate two events a year for all families in our DA services to participate in.   About you   Excellent organisational and project management skills Ability to provide guidance and support to volunteers, peers and service users in a professional and empowering way.  Some experience of recruiting and/or supervising people and/or volunteers are not essential but an advantage.    Ability to make engage with people in a friendly and warm manner is essential   Good knowledge and awareness of cultural, social and health issues relevant to Hestia's service users and in particular from our Domestic Abuse Services.   Able to build relationships and work jointly with a range of external partners from statutory, voluntary and private sectors.  Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.   Please note i f offered a role with Hestia, you will be issued a conditional offer based on satisfactory references and a Basic or Enhanced DBS check.   Disability confident   Hestia is a disability confident employer, committed to the employment and career development of individual with disabilities.
