This vacancy is in the Business and Commercial Banking (BCB) division, within the Client Servicing & Engagement (CSE) platform. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven candidate to join us as a Frontend engineer working as part of a cross-disciplinary feature team designing and developing products. Key responsibilities Writing modular, well-tested web-applications that remain easy to maintain as the codebase and business continues to scale in addition to identifying and addressing quality/performance issues; Collaborating with Product Owners, Designers, Engineers and DevOps Teams to build refine design, functionality, features and experiments; Participating in design and process reviews and enhancing the team’s capability. Ensuring software is built in a way which is consistent with - and exploits where possible - the collective frameworks, patterns and practices that exist across the wider Engineering community. Mentoring others and sharing knowledge to provide solutions for complex business problems where no precedent may exist and ensure implementation of solutions where appropriate. WHAT YOU’LL NEED Technical Skills Demonstrable front end engineering expertise particularly in JavaScript, React (AngularJS frameworks would be desirable) Working hands-on experience on the following tech stack (RESTful APIs and web services; Build processes/ release automation and agile practices e.g. Azure/GCP Pipelines, Nexus; Unit/Integration/E2E testing – Jest/Testing Library/Cucumber/Cypress; Implementing and using CI/CD pipelines) DevOps mindset and ability to use experience with containerisation tools like Jenkins, Maven, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform Strong understanding of source code repositories and change management tools, Git. Behavioural Skills A “can-do” attitude, capability of bootstrapping projects and ability to effectively work with multi-disciplinary, internal, and external distributed teams across the project lifecycle. Excellent communication skills and the confidence to express own opinions and be pragmatic about modifying them when appropriate.
