Mobile Fabric Engineer\n\nWest Midlands - Birmingham\n\n£28,000 - £30,000 + Van + Fuel Card\n\nBrief\n\nMobile Fabric Engineer needed for a well-known, large Facilities Management organisation based in Birmingham who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Fabric Engineer that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of planned and reactive fabric maintenance, meeting KPIs and SLAs and completing remedial works.\n\nThe successful candidate would desirably have relevant experience in fabric maintenance in a commercial setting and have a keen interest in fabric engineering. If you have a relevant qualification or apprenticeship that would be a plus!\n\nBenefits\n\nSalary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum + Van & Fuel card\n24 days annual leave increasing to 25 days once 2 years' service is reached (+ public holidays)\nLife Cover equivalent to 1.5 times annual salary\nEmployee discount shopping schemes on major brands and retailers and Gym membership discounts \nHoliday purchase scheme\n2 corporate social responsibility days per year\nBroad range of learning opportunities, such as professional qualifications, collective/individual training, and personalized support programmes\nAttractive Employee Referral Rewards Scheme\nAccess to our growing employee networks and 24/7 Employee Assistance Program and access to mental wellbeing app \n\nWhat the role entails:\n\nSome of the main duties of the Mobile Fabric Engineer will include:\n\nCarry out planned and reactive fabric maintenance across all building areas, including joinery, basic plumbing, painting, plastering, tiling, flooring, roofing, fence fitting, ground repair, door repair and general building repairs\nComplete minor repairs and remedial works to doors, windows, locks, ironmongery, ceilings, walls, fixtures and fittings\nDeliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks to required specifications and within set timeframes\nRespond promptly to reactive tasks to reduce disruption and meet contractual KPIs and SLAs\nIdentify building fabric defects, recommend remedial actions and provide accurate material lists and timescales\nEnsure building fabric assets are kept safe, secure and in good condition across all sites\nParticipate in the on‑call rotaWhat experience you need to be the successful Mobile Fabric Engineer:\n\nDesirable Post‑apprenticeship experience\nStrong knowledge of building fabric systems\n(Desirable) Recognised apprenticeship (City & Guilds or equivalent)\nValid driving licence\nExperience in schools, PFI or public‑sector environments\nKnowledge of associated M&E systems (Desirable)This role includes a DBS Enhanced with Barred Lists, therefore ability to pass is essential.\n\nThis really is a fantastic opportunity for a Fabric Engineer to progress their career.
