Site Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Engineer to join a multi-billion-pound infrastructure programme that will shape the future of the UK's transport network. This flagship project encompasses large-scale heavy civil engineering works, including highways construction, major structures, drainage networks, earthworks, and associated infrastructure.\n\nThis is an exceptional opportunity to work on a nationally significant project alongside industry-leading professionals, utilising the latest engineering technologies and construction methodologies.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs a Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of major construction packages, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.\n\nKey responsibilities will include:\n\n- Setting out and surveying works using modern surveying equipment and GPS technology.\n- Managing and overseeing construction activities across highways, structures, drainage, and heavy civils packages.\n- Ensuring all works are delivered in accordance with design specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.\n- Producing and maintaining accurate site records, as-built information, and quality documentation.\n- Supporting subcontractors and site teams to achieve programme milestones.\n- Reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.\n- Identifying and resolving technical issues on site in collaboration with design and construction teams.\n- Assisting with quality assurance processes, inspections, and testing activities.\n- Promoting and maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.\n\nAbout You\n\nTo be successful in this role, you will have:\n\n- A degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.\n- Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on major infrastructure, highways, heavy civils, or structural projects.\n- Strong setting-out and surveying capabilities.\n- Experience working with drainage systems, reinforced concrete structures, earthworks, and highway construction.\n- Excellent understanding of construction methods, specifications, and engineering standards.\n- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.\n- CSCS card as a minimum requirement.\n- Full UK driving licence.\n\nDesirable\n\n- Experience on major projects valued at £100m+.\n- Temporary works awareness.\n- Knowledge of BIM and digital engineering tools.\n- Membership of a professional institution such as ICE or progress towards chartership
