About the Service / Department Hestia's RBKC Young People's Service provides housing related support and interventions to 45 service users with a range of issues living in 6 accommodation services across the Borough. The service is for young people aged 16-25 years with housing and support needs. The focus of the service is to provide safe, accommodation-based housing support services for young people with the aim of promoting maximum independence for each individual. The service is focused on promoting independence and preventing dependency, institutional admission and homelessness. It delivers a person-centred approach enabling choice and control for each individual to realise their potential, increasing service users' ability to manage their tenures, supporting access to training, education and employment, and working closely with other providers of support to the individuals including other professional staff and family members. About the role This is your opportunity to be part of an exciting service working with young people. You will support the Service Manager and lead the in the running of the service ensuring the delivery of a consistent and high-quality supported housing service for Young People aged 16-25 years old. These young people may be leaving local authority care, be homeless, threatened with homelessness or living in accommodation that is not meeting their identified needs. The service provides ‘step up' or ‘step down' from other supported accommodation, as appropriate. Main Duties: Management experience within a Young People or Adult Supported Accommodation setting is essential Knowledge and experience of working with young people aged 16 - 25 years old Experienced in leading and motivating a large team Capable of recording financial transactions, i.e. petty cash, budgeting, etc. Able to create accurate reports and audit staff ability to record client data accurately and to a high standard Experience of working within a multi-agency setting Managing legal, statutory and good practice requirements applicable to the provision of supported housing Representing the organisation professionally to a wide range of audiences Managing safeguarding issues and ensuring they are addressed appropriately About you: Strong relevant experience providing housing and/or support services to vulnerable young people Excellent self-management skills including the ability to manage own time and responses to urgent requests Housing management knowledge Understanding of the regulatory framework relevant to the provision of housing services for young people. Knowledge of best and emerging practice in supported accommodation Experienced with challenges faced by frontline Support Workers and ability to offer staff welfare support Knowledge of relevant workplace legislation and associated duties including but not limited to those relating to HR and Health & Safety Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship management skills Resource Management Skills and Staff Scheduling Organisation and Planning skill to deliver multiple priorities to tight deadlines Creativity in engaging staff and residents to co-produce initiatives to engage individuals via activity and event planning Financial Acumen and budgeting skills Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.
